Dartmouth High School student representative Audrey Kertscher updated the School Committee on student life at the Sept. 23 meeting, noting theater rehearsals for the musical "Elf" with performances planned for Dec. 6–7, the football team's 3–0 start, a College Fair for juniors and seniors on Sept. 25, a Club Expo on Oct. 1 to connect freshmen with activities, and a Trunk-or-Treat fundraiser planned for late October. Kertscher also thanked DHS Junior Andrew Moniz for refurbishing the school's 9/11 memorial.
Under the consent agenda the committee approved a fundraising request from the DeMello/Cushman School PTO for the 2024–2025 school year; the motion to approve passed unanimously, 5–0. The committee also approved the regular- and executive-session minutes from Sept. 9, 2024; both motions passed 5–0. Staff noted cameras being installed in the Lynch Activity Center will bring the district closer to streaming events held there, and the committee acknowledged Kathy Thornton as the district's nominee for 2024 District 8 Athletic Trainer of the Year.
