The Peosta City Council unanimously approved a resolution appointing Joshua Dawsner as the city's administrator and immediately administered the oath of office.
Dawsner took the oath and repeated: "I, Joshua Dawsner, do solemnly swear that I will support the Constitution of the United States and the Constitution of the State of Iowa, and that I will faithfully and impartially, to the best of my ability, discharge all the duties of city administrator as now or hereafter by law." After the oath he thanked the council and said he was excited to return home and help Peosta manage growth.
Council members moved and seconded the appointment and recorded unanimous aye votes. The council also approved a separate resolution naming Dawsner as the city's primary liaison to SICOG (the regional planning/commission group) with Marcy designated as alternate.
Mayor (presiding) and council members praised the search process, with Gary McAndrew acknowledged for leading the recruitment. The appointment follows the council's formal vote; no dissent or abstentions were recorded.
The council completed the brief ceremonial portion by taking a group photograph and welcoming Dawsner to his duties. The city did not set a public timeline during the meeting for any immediate administrative changes or initiatives Dawsner will pursue.
