Lisbon selectmen approve minutes, tax refunds and line-item transfers in unanimous votes

The Lisbon Board of Selectmen approved a set of routine municipal actions during its June 22 meeting, voting unanimously on all motions recorded in the minutes.

The board approved the June 8, 2026 regular meeting minutes on a motion by Selectman Robert T. Browne, seconded by Selectman William C. Surfus. The board also approved two tax refunds requested by the Tax Collector for Melissa A. Wawrzynowicz: $130.46 and $80.63, each motion moved by Browne and seconded by Surfus. The two refunds total $211.09.

Under "Any other business," members voted to add "Line Item Transfer Requests" to the agenda and then approved two transfers: a $3,800 transfer from LI#52030 (Enforcement Officer) to LI#52050 (Supplies & Expenses) for the Conservation Commission, and a $40 transfer from LI#52611 (Clerk to the Boards Assistant) to LI#52650 (Supplies & Expenses) for the Clerk to the Boards. Both transfers were moved by Selectman Browne, seconded by Selectman Surfus, and carried unanimously.

The minutes record no public comments and list several correspondence items reviewed by the board, including a signed NEECOG contract for animal control services for July 1, 2026–June 30, 2027, notices from FEMA regarding flood insurance maps, a Neighborhood Assistance Act application submitted to the state, and a letter concerning a National Opioid Settlement payment. First Selectman Thomas W. Sparkman also reported that plans and full specifications for the 1 South Burnham Highway Urban Action Grant project are completed and under review for submission to the Connecticut Department of Transportation, and that contractors have contacted the Senior Center Coordinator regarding Commission on Aging building maintenance plans.

The meeting adjourned at 7:03 p.m. following the unanimous vote to adjourn (motion by Selectman Browne, second by Selectman Surfus).
