Staff said a parent donated a gently used flute and a used guitar to the Scotland music program (estimated total value $99) and the PTA contributed funds for vegetable-garden cleanup and plantings. Staff also reported a returning donor, described as a "lunch angel," offered $5,167 to clear meal balances for eligible families; staff said this donor has given three times and is approaching a $15,000 total. "We will have a memo to the board and a recommendation and that one will require a vote on Monday evening," staff said.
On transfers, staff described a large transfer of $85,000 that was made so the district could order a van; staff said the purchase was completed the day after the transfer. Facilities staff moved four lines of $3,600 each from various school projects into the high school projects line to purchase glycol to keep the heating/circulation loop from freezing, for a total facilities transfer of $14,400. Staff said the glycol purchase was recommended by the vendor to prevent freezing.
The committee had no further questions on these items and adjourned. The lunch-angel donation will appear for a formal vote at the full board meeting Monday evening.
