Students give fall activity reports; board honors outgoing members and notes Memorial School recognition

Superintendent Dr. Lea told the board the district’s overall accountability rating increased from 76 to 80 for the 2024–25 year and congratulated Memorial School for being named a School of Distinction for high growth among high‑need students; she singled out staff leaders for recognition.
The board formally recognized two outgoing board members for work since 2021, citing accomplishments such as adopting a long‑range facilities plan, closing and repurposing two elementary schools and securing a $78 million bond authorization for district facilities. Robert E. Moore’s name appears on the resolutions honoring the departing members.
The board also welcomed newly elected members Mark Simmons and Nick Constantino and discussed orientation and professional‑development opportunities. The meeting included routine business—approval of minutes, committee reports, and scheduling—and closed after public‑comment opportunity.
