These contributions are structured as multi‑year sponsorships tied to inlays and other donor recognitions that will appear in the field surface and associated stadium area.
Board members voted on each donation separately. For the Strongsville City Club donation (resolution on the agenda as an action item) the motion passed with four yes votes and one abstention (Mr. Helms abstained citing membership). The subsequent $25,000 donations from the football league and youth lacrosse were approved unanimously by members voting on the agenda items. The naming rights agreement for Dan Martin also passed by recorded roll call.
The board also approved a change order to add donor inlays as part of the FieldTurf USA contract for the Pakatan Stadium turf replacement. The change order increased the project total to not exceed $550,1064 (amount reported in the exhibit) and was funded from the turf/donation fund. Two trustees abstained from the change‑order vote because they serve on donor organizations (Mrs. Ham abstained for the Chamber of Commerce affiliation; Mr. Holmes abstained for the City Club affiliation); the motion passed with a majority.
Administrators said the turf project is fully funded through the donations and reimbursements and noted that some donor funds are structured to be paid over five or ten years while benefits (inlays, recognition) run the life of the turf.
What's next: the board will consider any final donation exhibits that arrive before the June 30 meeting and will process vendor and construction timelines through the district's business services office.
