Strongsville board appoints new member, approves roofing and facility contracts

- Parking-lot sealing at Strongsville Middle School: contract accepted not to exceed $26,575 (motion and roll-call approval).
- Purchase of custodial equipment under BWC grant funding and district match: total purchases of approximately $87,814 (approved; district match required under the grant programs).
- Vendor-managed custodial supply program with Alco Chem, FY27: agreement approved not to exceed $57,552 to supply routine custodial chemicals and ancillary items under a fixed annual arrangement.
- Roofing improvements at Morasi and SAR Elementary schools: contract accepted not to exceed $669,500 charged to the permanent-improvement fund; administration explained the work includes restoration with a 20-year warranty where appropriate and targeted maintenance elsewhere to delay full replacements while district capital planning continues.
Administrators explained that the roofing work is being paid from the permanent-improvement fund and that some urgent roof repairs were prioritized to avoid escalation to full replacements. The parking-lot sealing follows a previously authorized mill-and-replace scope and is intended to preserve the newly rebuilt asphalt sections.
The consent calendar, which included numerous personnel appointments, program approvals, and contracts across curriculum, student services and human resources, was adopted by a single roll-call vote.
