At the same time, councilors agreed to refer two reappointments of department heads to the personnel appointments committee for further discussion: paper 123-26 (mayoral reappointment of Yam Lip as city engineer) and paper 125-26 (mayoral reappointment of Anthony Rodriguez as director of information technology). Sponsors said department heads may merit additional committee-level conversations because of ongoing litigation and operational oversight issues.
The confirmations were taken one batch with roll-call and approved unanimously; the two departmental reappointments will be scheduled for personnel committee review and follow-up with department heads.
