Superintendent Sally Keating, Business Manager Jonathan Paradis and Director of Buildings & Grounds Charles (Wes) Greenleaf presented the proposal and the cost estimate. Town documents cited a potential state reimbursement rate of 55.71% of the project cost; Keating said she has spoken with Senator Cathy Osten, who will apply for a potential 80% state grant reimbursement on the town’s behalf.
The board approved the project contingent on the Board of Finance’s review and a subsequent town meeting vote, leaving those bodies to finalize funding commitments and any local match requirements. The Selectmen did not vote on financing terms at the meeting; the board’s approval authorizes the town to proceed with necessary next steps of the project approval process.
Next steps include Board of Finance review and scheduling the town meeting to ratify the project. No contract awards or construction start dates were recorded at the June 8 meeting.
