Select Board warrant article for HVAC feasibility study outlined to School Committee; town vote set for Sept. 27

Superintendent Dr. Linda Dwight reported on the Massachusetts School Building Authority (MSBA) process and a related warrant article at the Aug. 25 School Committee meeting.
Dr. Dwight said the Select Board approved a warrant article for the first phase of an MSBA project that asks town voters on Sept. 27, 2025 to authorize up to $200,000 for an HVAC heat‑pump feasibility study and schematic design. She said if the district receives an MSBA grant when applications are evaluated in October, the town would be eligible for reimbursement of approximately 49.5% of those expenses and would then negotiate contracts with the Owner’s Project Manager and engineering firm.
Committee members heard the timeline and a goal to secure funding for HVAC replacement at The Bromfield School by June 2026. The committee did not vote on the warrant article at the meeting; the Select Board has placed it on the warrant for the town vote.
