The Peosta Business & Community Alliance (PBCA) updated the City Council on its strategic planning work with consultant Wendy Nunez, describing a near-final plan that will shape sponsorship levels, bylaws, board recruitment and training.
A PBCA representative told the council the planning process has divided tasks among leads — for example, bylaws and policies — and that staff expect two to five additional meetings before the plan is finished. The representative said the consultant’s contract was extended so she could complete the work.
Council members and staff discussed outreach to local businesses and confirmed an April 14 event to solicit input from area businesses on what services the PBCA should offer. The PBCA will issue a survey to collect business feedback before finalizing proposals.
Separately, staff outlined the Community Heart & Soul project’s next steps: a new resident guide to be posted on the city website, photo opportunities coordinated with Community Savings Bank, Fidelity Bank and UMB, and a planned presence on Great Gift Day on May 20 under the community foundation umbrella. Staff said the guide is being reviewed by local realtors and expected to be available after an April work session to finalize the web landing page.
The council did not take formal action on the PBCA report; the item was presented for information and community-engagement planning.
