Broken Bow council holds budget hearing; appropriation bill explained

Mayor Rod Sonnichsen called the Broken Bow City Council budget hearing to order at 5:03 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 14, 2021, at the Broken Bow Municipal Auditorium. City Administrator Dan Knoell and Deputy Clerk/Treasurer Jessica S. Owen explained the 2020–2021 Appropriation Bill to the council and members of the public.
The explanation of the appropriation bill was presented to the council as part of the formal budget process; the minutes record that officials explained the bill but do not list appropriation amounts or any vote to adopt it at this hearing. Mayor Sonnichsen opened the meeting with the Pledge of Allegiance and read the procedure for submitting requests for future agenda items.
Councilmembers Jacob Holcomb, Larry Miller and Chris Myers were present when the meeting began; Councilman David Schmidt arrived at 5:08 p.m. There were no public comments during the hearing, according to the minutes.
Councilman Chris Myers moved to adjourn the City Council Budget Hearing at 5:35 p.m., and Councilman Jacob Holcomb seconded. A roll call vote recorded aye votes from Myers, Schmidt, Miller and Holcomb; no members voted against the motion. The motion carried and the hearing adjourned.
