Early council grants resident extension to repair garage, sets new deadline

At the Aug. 3, 2021 meeting the Early City Council granted a request from resident John Deal to extend the deadline to abate a garage in disrepair.
Deal told the council he had been working on the property and that progress was evident. Councilor Brian Pickhinke moved to grant an extension to Aug. 31, 2021; Councilor Steven Mason seconded. On a show of hands the recorded ayes were Pickhinke, Cougill, Schmitt, Langner and Mason and the motion passed.
The minutes state the council will continue to monitor progress; no additional penalties or next steps beyond the new deadline are recorded in the meeting minutes.
