The Early City Council approved its consent agenda at a regular meeting on Aug. 3, 2021, voting unanimously to adopt the agenda, minutes, and bills for payment and to renew the liquor license for Casey's General Store.
Councilor Brian Pickhinke made the motion to approve the consent agenda and Councilor Bill Cougill seconded; the council voted on a show of hands with Pickhinke, Cougill, Summer Schmitt, Steven Mason and Tim Langner recorded as voting aye.
The clerk reported line-item vendor payments and fund totals included in the consent agenda. The meeting minutes list total expenses of $30,712.43 and show receipts and balances across multiple city funds, including general, water and sewer utilities, road use tax and sinking funds. Vendors noted in the clerk's report included Rudd Sanitation & Recycle, MidAmerican Energy, Schmitt Contracting and various payroll and benefit entries.
Mayor Sharon Ann Irwin presided over the meeting. The council received monthly reports later in the evening from the mayor, the library, the fire department and the Department of Public Works before adjourning at 9:03 p.m.
