The New Milford Board of Education unanimously approved a memorandum of agreement with the CEA‑New Milford on extra‑curricular stipends following an executive session at its May 19 meeting.
The Board voted to enter executive session at 7:32 p.m. on a motion from Mr. Brian McCauley, seconded by Mr. Tom O’Brien. The Board invited Superintendent Dr. Janet Parlato into executive session; the Board returned to open session at 7:45 p.m.
After returning to public session Mrs. Sarah Herring moved that the Board execute the proposed memorandum of agreement and authorize the Chairperson to sign the agreement pending any necessary further review; Mr. Brian McCauley seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously.
Dr. Parlato thanked staff involved with the agreement, saying, "[I] thank Cara Abraham, Alessandro Amenta and Ginny Landgrebe for their hard work in helping move this forward, as well as Ms. Hollander." The minutes indicate the Board authorized the Chairperson to sign the memorandum pending any final review.
Outcome and next steps: the Board’s action authorizes final execution of the MOA once any remaining administrative review is complete.
