The New Milford Board of Education entered executive session at 7:26 p.m. on March 17 to discuss a pending 2021 matter before the Connecticut Commission on Human Rights and Opportunities; Superintendent Janet Parlato was invited into the session.
After returning at 7:38 p.m., the board voted unanimously to approve a proposed $10,000 settlement in the matter and authorized Board Chair Leslie Sarich to sign the settlement agreement subject to any necessary legal review. The motion to enter executive session was made by Wendy Faulenbach (who also moved that Superintendent Parlato join the session), was seconded by Eric Hansell and passed unanimously. The subsequent motion to approve the settlement and authorize the chair to sign was moved by Sarah Sarich and seconded by Dean Barile and passed unanimously.
