NRHS moves through NEASC cycle; school sets five priority areas ahead of new building

NRHS leadership updated the Nashoba school committee on the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC) accreditation process and the school's priority areas for improvement ahead of its accreditation visit.
The principal said the school engaged in a four‑month self‑reflection, hosted a collaborative conference, and met foundational NEASC elements. The school is developing and implementing a growth and improvement plan for 2025–27. Priority areas explained by the principal include preparations for the new building (facility readiness and tours for visiting teams), curriculum and instruction with emphasis on student engagement and high‑quality curricular materials, embedding the district’s "portrait of a Nashoba graduate" across grades, strengthening multi‑tiered systems of support (MTSS) and common planning/PLC time for teachers, and enhancing portfolio and senior‑project practices.
The principal said NEASC visiting teams will tour facilities and classrooms during the next visit window. "We were found needing all of the foundational elements...We have met all of those," the principal said during the presentation, adding that accreditation documentation and the visiting team report will be shared in summer 2027 and an appeal/implementation timeline will follow.
What’s next: staff will finalize the growth and improvement plan, continue classroom observations and evidence collection, and present the accreditation report to the committee when NEASC issues its summer 2027 determination.
