Towns back $1.8 million in capital requests; committee recommends renewing contracted treasurer

Assistant Superintendent McCarron told the school committee that the district's recent capital engagement with member towns produced broad support and more than $1.8 million in town commitments for facility improvements over the FY27 capital plan. "What you see there represents over $1.8 million in commitments from our member towns on improving the facilities," McCarron said.

Committee members credited building tours and enhanced communication with town leaders for the successful warrant outcomes; some items (a scoreboard replacement) were deferred in coordination with a town. McCarron said the administration will now move to scheduling and project planning after town approvals.

On appointments, the administration recommended renewing Victoria Chartier as the district treasurer under contract for fiscal year 2027; committee members noted she is Massachusetts‑certified and has been closely involved with bonding for the new high school. Administration said the FY27 contract is "approximately $30,000," that Chartier is contracted (not an employee) and that an annual treasurer’s bond is maintained.
