At its April 6 meeting the West Bridgewater School Committee approved a suite of policy updates recommended by the policy subcommittee, confirmed appointments to regional collaboratives, and accepted donations and grants described in the meeting packet.
The policy subcommittee recommended updates to the D index (fiscal/purchasing and related policies) and reported compliance with procurement procedures; the district's business office confirmed a Massachusetts-certified public purchasing official (MCPO) is on staff. The committee approved the policies by voice vote.
Chair moved to appoint Superintendent Mark Bodwell to serve as the district representative to the Reeds Collaborative and the North River Collaborative for the 2026'27 school year under Chapter 40, Section 4E; both appointments were approved. The committee also voted to accept donations and grants documented in the packet, including PTO fundraising proceeds ($41,000 reported from the Boosterthon) to support reading incentives and other programs.
CPAC (the Special Education Parent Advisory Council) and the PTO provided updates: CPAC highlighted Autism Acceptance Month activities and a "grant of gratitude" nomination process (nomination deadline May 8); PTO said it raised $41,000 and announced a Harlem Wizards event May 6. The committee motion to accept the donations and grants passed by voice vote.
The committee thanked outgoing member Mrs. Mskoski for her service and confirmed its next meeting for May 4, 2026.
