Aurelia council agrees to tree program, tables insurance decision and swears in mayor and council members

Carrissa Harvey addressed the council about Hometown Pride and the MidAmerican 'Trees Please' grant program; the council agreed to move forward with the tree project and asked Harvey to provide an update at the December meeting. The meeting minutes record the council’s decision to go ahead and note that Harvey will update next month.
The council received public works, police and clerk reports and tabled action on employee health insurance renewal until the Dec. 15 council meeting. The clerk’s report and the insurance item were placed on the agenda for additional review at the next regular meeting.
At the close of the meeting Roman Redig was sworn in as mayor, and Sue Johnson and Brent Fassler were sworn in as council members. A landfill report was given before the council adjourned at 7:59 p.m.
