Coolidge council unanimously approves moving tax due date, pay changes, employee bonuses and infrastructure contracts

The Coolidge City Council voted unanimously on Nov. 11 to approve a package of routine measures, including changing the annual property tax due date to Dec. 31, 2025, amending the city payscale and authorizing bonus pay for employees.
The council, presided over by Mayor Diane H. Causey, first approved the October 2025 workshop and council meeting minutes and the order of the agenda, which included the addition of a planned Santa visit. Councilmember Melissa Johnson made several of the motions recorded during the meeting and Elizabeth Leger frequently seconded them.
In a pair of sequential actions, the council approved changing the property tax due date and then adopted an ordinance establishing Dec. 31, 2025, as the new due date. The ordinance adoption was recorded as unanimously approved; the ordinance number was not specified in the minutes.
The council also approved an amendment to the City of Coolidge payscale and authorized payment of employee bonus pay scheduled for Nov. 22. The council approved the annual council pay item for Nov. 22 and voted to permit installation of Christmas lights for the season. Council approved a fall clean-up event set for Nov. 7–17, 2025, on Zoe Street.
Under old business, the council accepted Smith Electric's quote to support water system infrastructure and approved technology system upgrades and maintenance. Jared Clanton presented a Land Use Compliance Form during the meeting; council approved the submission following a motion and second. Interim Police Chief Mark Hickman reported that radar equipment was recertified for another two years.
No members of the public offered comment. The council voted to enter executive session and later closed it before adjourning. Meeting attendance was recorded and the mayor and assistant city clerk signed the minutes.
