Pittsburg County renews juvenile detention service and operation contracts with Eastern Oklahoma Youth Services

The Pittsburg County Board of County Commissioners voted June 22 to approve two contracts with Eastern Oklahoma Youth Services, Inc. (EOYS) for FY 2026–2027: a per‑child detention services agreement set at $38.97 per child per day and a contract for EOYS to operate the Pittsburg County Regional Juvenile Detention Center.
Chairman Ross Selman moved to approve both agreements. The motions were seconded and passed unanimously. Meeting records specify the per‑child rate of $38.97 per day as the user county charge; EOYS will bill user counties accordingly and process claims through the county per contract terms.
The operation agreement covers EOYS’s responsibilities for admissions, medical attention for detainees, referral and admission procedures, and coordination with the referring user counties regarding petitions, legal representation, and judicial proceedings. The contracts run from July 1, 2026 through June 30, 2027, and may be terminated with 30 days’ written notice by either party under the contract terms.
The board signed the contracts during its regular meeting and confirmed that EOYS will provide required reports and audits in accordance with state and county requirements.
