Kingston 300th Committee approves blankets, memorial stone spending and accepts minutes

The Kingston 300th Committee voted March 18 in Room 203 to approve routine business and to allocate money for commemorative items tied to the town's anniversary events.
Emily, a committee member, moved to approve the Feb. 18, 2026 meeting minutes; Chris seconded and the motion passed. Later in the meeting Michelle moved to authorize $900 to order 20 commemorative blankets; Chris seconded and the committee voted in favor of the purchase.
The group also discussed a proposed colonial memorial stone (dimensions recorded as 15x30x60) intended for the Town Green to commemorate those who fought in the Revolution. Don moved to authorize spending "upwards of $2,000" to cover the stone, engraving and footing; Paula seconded and the motion carried. Committee members noted they will bring suggested wording for the engraving to a subsequent meeting.
The Book Committee returned a $6,000 donation to the 300th account to serve as seed money for a future 325th committee, and Michelle reported $540 in merchandise receipts to date. Committee members recorded these receipts and planned follow-up on vendor orders and engraving options at the next meeting.
The committee adjourned at 6:23 p.m.; the next meeting is scheduled for April 1, 2026.
