The Hobart City Redevelopment Commission approved several contract and payment items at its March 16 meeting, including change order No. 9 for an electrical service tie-in, payment application No. 1 for a roundabout project and a register of claims totaling about $280,409.46.
Project staff described change order No. 9 as a directional bore to reach a junction box after NIPSCO relocated a service pole; the change order amount was reported in the transcript as approximately $6,688.02. Staff and the project inspector said the Colorado tracking project remains roughly $64,000 under budget, so the change order would not push the overall project over budget. The commission moved and approved the change order by voice vote.
The commission also approved payment application No. 1 for the roundabout project in the amount of $253,350. Staff said most work is complete with minor punch-list items outstanding; commissioners stressed using low-maintenance landscaping to avoid creating a maintenance obligation that would fall on the parks department.
Separately, the commission approved the register of claims (invoices and payments) totaling approximately $280,409.46 and approved bond requisitions Nos. 76 and 77 tied to lease-rental bond projects and the RDC's 20% contribution. All motions were moved, seconded and approved by voice vote.
