Exeter council approves consent calendar including LAIF investment resolution and Carnegie Building extension

EXETER, Calif. — The Exeter City Council unanimously approved its consent calendar at the May 26 regular meeting, adopting routine finance and administrative items that included an investment authorization, service agreements and audit-response paperwork.

The council adopted Resolution 2026-17 authorizing the City's officers to invest monies in the State Treasurer's Local Agency Investment Fund (LAIF). The consent calendar also approved payroll and bill payments, accepted the City Treasurer's report for March 2026, and approved street-closure requests for upcoming community events including National Night Out and Independence Day celebrations.

Council approved a one-year extension to the agreement with Community Services and Employment Training, Inc. (CSET) for use of the Exeter Carnegie Building and authorized execution of the first addendum to that agreement. The consent calendar included acceptance and approval of the City's response to the Tulare County Civil Grand Jury report titled “Exeter Measure P Review,” and authorized the mayor to sign the response letter in accordance with California Penal Code Section 933.05.

Mayor Jacob Johnson moved to approve the consent calendar; Mayor Pro Tem Jeff Wilson seconded. The motion passed on a 5-0 roll call.

The items on the consent calendar were presented as routine and enacted together; council members did not request separate discussion on any item during the meeting.

The council's action resolves multiple administrative items at once and clears the agenda for the evening's individual business items.
