Shelby City Council approves storm-sewer bid, adopts longevity pay and tables housing application

The council also tabled agenda item d to wait for bids on a new generator. The motion to table was made by Councilmember Todd Frank, seconded by Councilmember Karen Schlueter, and passed on a unanimous roll-call vote.
Councilmember Karen Schlueter moved, and Councilmember Jackie Hursey seconded, to add Longevity Pay, which has been in effect since 1996, to the city’s updated Personnel Policy; the motion carried on a unanimous roll-call vote.
On a motion by Councilmember Todd Frank, seconded by Councilmember Karen Schlueter, the council approved a $15-per-month longevity pay increase for City Clerk Chris Martin for 20 years of service. The council made the adjustment retroactive; Martin will receive a $360 check covering 2024 and 2025. The motion carried on a unanimous roll-call vote.
The council tabled a housing application submitted by Spencer Petersen until the next meeting on Jan. 6, 2026, following a motion by Councilmember Todd Frank and a second from Councilmember Jackie Hursey.
The PCC contract for the Ambulance Billing Program was approved (motion recorded by Councilmember Todd Frank; roll call all ayes). The transcript records the contract’s approval but does not include contract terms or financial details.
