Scottsboro City Schools board unanimously approves personnel changes, contracts, policies and FY25 capital plan

The board then approved personnel items: the resignation of Lauren Cooper (Collaborative Pre-K Auxiliary Teacher, effective Aug. 30); transfers for Ann Gonzalez and Tammy Rodgers (effective Sept. 9); employment hires including Stephanie Doss and Jana Gilliam (effective Sept. 9) and Cody Gore as Computer Technician for Scottsboro City Schools (effective Sept. 9); a long-term substitute appointment for Kristen Hastings (Aug. 5–Dec. 20); and leave requests for Carolyn Ann Martin (Nov. 21–Jan. 10) and Karen Wilhelm (Sept. 16–23).
The board also approved the 2024–25 supplemental positions, additions to the 2024–25 substitute list, 2024–25 TEAMS contracts, the Scottsboro Junior High School art teacher contract, Club Wildcat Afterschool contracts, an amendment to the FY25 salary schedule to create a Data Manager position and set its salary, and the K–6 Behavior Interventionist job description. The minutes show each of these motions passed unanimously.
Policy and agreements approved included Teacher’s Bill of Rights Board Policy 5.24 and the Alabama State Department of Education ARI Local Reading Specialist job description and associated MOU/MOA. The board approved a Memorandum of Agreement between Scottsboro City Schools and ParentSquare and adopted the FY25 Scottsboro City Schools Capital Plan.
