Scottsboro City Schools swears in Patrick Dicus; Cheyenne Bennett elected vice president

The Scottsboro City Schools Board of Education on Sept. 5, 2024 administered the Oath of Office to Patrick Dicus, who assumed the board seat for Place #1 after meeting certification requirements, and then elected Cheyenne Bennett to serve as board vice president.
Superintendent Amy Childress confirmed that she and Board President Jason Williams had met with Patrick Dicus and that he had signed the Certification of Affirmation of School Board Member and was in compliance with Local School Board Governance Rules as set forth in the Code of Alabama. Judge John Graham administered the oath and Mr. Dicus assumed his responsibilities as board member for Place #1.
Later in the meeting, with the presidency filled by Mr. Jason Williams, Mr. Patrick Woosley nominated Mrs. Cheyenne Bennett for vice president. Mr. Woosley moved to close nominations, a motion seconded by Mr. Patrick Dicus, and the board voted unanimously to elect Cheyenne Bennett to serve as vice president from Sept. 5, 2024 until the scheduled organizational meeting on May 1, 2025.
The actions were taken during the regularly scheduled board meeting and were recorded without dissent. No additional conditions or roll-call irregularities were noted in the minutes.
