Smith said the change would not affect wages or other benefits and would apply to four current employees and future hires.
Council Member House moved to accept the change; Council Member Jenkins seconded the motion, which passed 7–0. The council did not discuss individual employee elections or specific implementation steps during the open session; staff were expected to coordinate with LAGERS and affected employees on the mechanics of the transfer.
