On police operations, the council discussed allowing Officer D. Danielson to drive an older police car home so he can check the local school during his commute and be immediately available. Danielson said he has a 15-minute drive, expects to work roughly 24 hours per week, is pursuing recertification following recent training and needs a desktop and a radio to outfit a new Charger. The council agreed to allow Danielson to keep the vehicle at home and said they would review the arrangement if issues arise.
The meeting record also shows the fire department confirmed equipment will not be taken home in future and that backing of fire trucks requires a spotter; park clean-up and blight enforcement procedures (certified letters with photos) were described in the clerk’s report. The meeting adjourned at 8:16 p.m.
