At its Sept. 16 meeting, the Village of Akron Council approved two separate operational actions: buying two pagers for the fire department and renting a small storage space at the lagoon building to the Village of Fairgrove.
Fire Chief M. Hasso reported recent fire runs and requested two pagers for department use at a combined cost of $1,300. Councilor T. Tait moved to purchase the pagers, with M. Strasz seconding; the motion passed 5–0.
Councilor M. Strasz then moved to rent the lagoon storage space to the Village of Fairgrove for $300 per year, supported by T. Nusz. Council members noted Fairgrove will insure its own equipment and that the village will not assume liability for Fairgrove property; the rental motion also passed unanimously.
Both motions were recorded as passed with five Yays and no Nays. Minutes show no recorded amendments, conditions or follow‑up requirements beyond standard procurement and rental administration.
