The Berlin-Boylston Regional School Committee on April 7 approved multiple routine business items, including the FY27 school calendar, Program of Studies, student club changes, and several donations.
Mrs. Elisabeth Mancini moved to approve the FY27 school calendar; Mrs. Lisa Mair seconded and the motion passed 5-1, with Chair Michael Totman opposed. The Program of Studies for the coming year was approved 6-0.
The committee accepted a donation to repair the front sign at Boylston Elementary School from Leslie Grenier and accepted a donation from Ahold Delhaize to be allocated to K–5 at Boylston, both by unanimous votes. The committee authorized the BES Student Activities Treasurer to transfer $1,000 from the Comic Book Club to the Arts & Crafts Club to reallocate existing club funds; that motion passed 6-0. An announced Bingo Night at Boylston Elementary was canceled prior to the meeting.
On School Choice seats, the committee approved nine seats at Tahanto (vote 5-1), approved adding four School Choice seats at Berlin (vote 5-1), and approved zero seats at Boylston (vote 6-0). These votes were taken during the business items portion of the agenda.
Committee members characterized these as routine approvals necessary for operations and student activities; the transcript records motions and recorded votes for each item.
