Berlin-Boylston Regional School Committee approves amended $25.7 million FY27 operating budget, 5-1

Committee member Elisabeth Mancini made the motion to approve the amended FY27 operating budget; Lisa Mair seconded. Committee member Jessica Deglialberti offered an amendment to the motion requiring further review of certain items and scheduling a follow-up meeting. The committee agreed to reconvene on Friday, April 10, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. via Zoom to discuss specifics. The amended motion passed in a roll-call vote, 5-1, with Chair Michael Totman the lone dissenting vote.
The vote also included approval of two rollover capital items designated for FY27: Boylston Elementary School playground equipment ($30,000) and Berlin Memorial School elevator controls replacement ($192,000). Those rollovers passed separately, 6-0.
The committee did not record additional changes to the budget text in the public portion of the transcript; the April 10 follow-up meeting was scheduled to address specifics flagged by the members.
Next steps: the committee’s amendment directs staff to revisit the specified items and report back at the April 10 meeting for further action.
