The Village of Pellston council approved several financial motions during its Dec. 9 meeting, including staff bonuses, payables and a DDA investment.
On a motion by Mark Givens, seconded by Steve Hall, the council approved a $250 holiday bonus for each of four employees named in the minutes: Fire Chief Randy Bricker, DPW Supervisor Art Massey, employee Roy Parkey and Clerk Rebecca O’Neil. The motion passed unanimously.
The council then approved bills totaling $58,735.08 on a motion by Steve Hall, seconded by Jane Ann Rose. Fire Chief Bricker asked that monthly deposit reports be presented together with payables going forward so the council could review receipts alongside expenditures.
Separately, the council approved the Downtown Development Authority’s request to deposit $75,000 into a three-month certificate of deposit and authorized President Jim Gillett, Treasurer Brenda Blakemore and Clerk Rebecca O’Neil as signees. That motion, moved by Mark Givens and seconded by Eric Ward, passed 6-0.
These items were recorded as routine fiscal business in the minutes; no amendments or conditions were recorded alongside the approvals.
