Pellston council recognizes Fire Fighters Association; chief reports record call volume and equipment grant

Randy Bricker, the village fire chief, told the council the First Responders have had 350 runs year-to-date and the fire department has had 50 runs, figures the minutes describe as a record level for the department. Bricker said roof repairs at the fire hall have been completed while interior repairs and mold remediation remain in progress. He also reported that he and Pam Rybinski continue to pursue grants; a recent award from the Petoskey Harbor Springs Community Foundation funded the purchase of a gas detector with thermal imaging capability.
