Pellston council authorizes $181,833 plow‑truck bond, approves camera grant and sidewalk bid

Pellston Village Council unanimously authorized a $181,833 capital improvement bond on Sept. 9 to finance a new snow‑plow truck, the meeting minutes show. The motion, moved by Eric Ward and seconded by Steve Hall, directs Village President Jim Gillett to execute the bond paperwork; the minutes record annual payments of approximately $12,000 over 15 years.

The council also approved a Michigan Township Participating Plan (Par Plan) grant application for $3,000 to help purchase additional security cameras. Councilmember Jane Ann Rose moved the resolution, which passed 7–0.

The Outdoor Art contract is $6,880 to install 160 feet by 4 feet of sidewalk. The bill list for the period, totaling $105,665.02, was approved unanimously.

Council considered a proposal from Jule/Dewberry for a four‑space electric vehicle charging station but decided it was not in favor of the project; no supporting motion is recorded in the minutes. President Jim Gillett reviewed conceptual Trailhead drawings by architect Dave O’Neil and noted the Department of Natural Resources must approve the designs before the project will be bid in December.
