The Village of Pellston council administered oaths of office on Dec. 9 to a group of elected and appointed officials and reestablished its membership for the coming term.
Rebecca O’Neil, clerk, subscribed and swore in Jim Gillett as village president, Brenda Blakemore as treasurer, and council members Jane Ann Rose, Mark Givens, Eric Ward and Jackie Pierce. The council then voted 5-0 to reappoint Steve Hall to the council following the resignation of Carolina Mallory; the motion was made by Eric Ward and seconded by Jane Ann Rose.
The reappointment follows the council’s acceptance of Mallory’s resignation earlier on the agenda. The clerk recorded the attendance of the governing body at the start of the meeting and the council approved the minutes from the Nov. 11 meeting on a motion by Jane Ann Rose, seconded by Mark Givens.
No substantive policy debate accompanied the organizational actions; the council moved promptly from oaths and personnel confirmations to operational items later in the agenda. The meeting was adjourned at 6:50 p.m.
