Peck Community Schools board approves routine business, hires paraprofessional and interim baseball coach

The Peck Community Schools Board of Education on Dec. 18 approved routine business, accepted a staff resignation and approved two hires during a roughly 30-minute meeting called to order by President Welch at 6:00 p.m.
The board unanimously approved the minutes of the Nov. 20 meeting (motion by Renee Alfaro, support by Kosal) and adopted the meeting agenda (motion by Schreiner, support by MacMillan). The board also voted to pay bills and approved the financial report (motion by Kosal, support by Alfaro).
In other business, the board approved hiring Brenna Kosal as an elementary paraprofessional and athletic department assistant following a motion by Alfaro and support from MacMillan. Member Kosal abstained from that vote; the motion carried. The board also approved hiring Jennifer Kluger as interim baseball coach (motion by Kosal, support by MacMillan) and accepted the resignation of paraprofessional Candice Johnson (motion by Schreiner, support by Alfaro). The minutes do not specify salary, start dates or other hiring terms.
