Committee accepts $15,000 Glenn W. Bailey Foundation grant for Anchor robotics program

The Stamford School District fiscal committee voted 4‑0 to accept a $15,000 grant from the Glenn W. Bailey Foundation to support a robotics and art fusion program at Anchor school. The committee approved Resolution 83 and will forward it to the Board of Education consent agenda.
Ryan, a district staff member, told the committee the resolution "does give most of the pertinent information" and said the award was applied for by Dr. Reich, a science teacher at Anchor. Ryan said the grant is competitive and will be used to purchase robotics materials and to fund professional development for staff.
Committee member Gabriela asked the district’s policy on board review of grants; Ryan replied, "Anything over $10,000 will come to the board." The committee then voted to approve the grant acceptance unanimously.
The committee chair said the resolution will appear on next week’s consent agenda for the full Board of Education.
