Rye Recycling committee finalizes outreach poster, sets Rye Day plans

The committee recorded that Casey created the graphic and authorized printing; a large poster will cost $60 and will be displayed during Rye Day. Alex and Casey are listed as responsible for enlarging and printing the artwork. The committee also discussed parade and table ideas, including converting a truck bed into a recycle-bucket float and sourcing enlarged can costumes from local grocery stores, with a plan to end at Parsons Field.
Members set communication deadlines tied to upcoming publications: a "Swap Shop" spotlight was planned for the June Stroll magazine and must be submitted to Randy by late May; the quarterly town newsletter is due Aug. 10 (mailed in September) and articles should be submitted to Amy Thibideau with copies to Matt and Alex. The committee recorded additional dates including the Stroll mailing (mid-July) and the annual town report due Jan. 23, 2027.
On operations, the committee noted a work-in-progress request to the Department of Public Works to place recycling buckets at Cable and Pirates Cove. Joyce, a committee member, volunteered to visit the Swap Shop every other week to collect items for donation to Goodwill and the Salvation Army.
Next steps: Alex/Casey will finalize the poster enlargement and printing ahead of Rye Day; the Stroll article must be submitted to Randy by the late-May deadline; and committee members will follow up with DPW on placement of recycle buckets. The group recorded the tasks and deadlines and closed the poster-printing action as completed in the meeting notes.
