Middlefield Board of Finance chair accepts town finance post; transition dates announced

Chair Michael Skelps announced at the Board of Finance budget workshop April 14 that he has accepted the position of finance manager for the Town of Middlefield. He told the board his last day on the Board of Finance will be April 23 and that he will remain chair through the budget-preparation period.
Skelps said he will begin as a town employee on May 5 and that he will assume the role of Finance Director effective May 29. The April 14 minutes list Al Rusilowicz, CPA, as Finance Director in attendance. The minutes do not describe any personnel actions taken at the meeting related to that office.
The announcement did not include a formal vote or additional discussion recorded in the minutes; the workshop proceeded to review department budgets. The board scheduled its next meeting for Thursday, April 16.
