The Village of Pellston Council on Jan. 14 approved multiple lot splits and moved to fill seats on local advisory bodies during a meeting at Village Hall.
Council President Jim Gillett recorded attendance and led the session. A motion by Eric Ward, seconded by Jane Ann Rose, approved the Dec. 9, 2024 minutes at the start of the meeting.
On new business the council moved to appoint Jackie Pierce and Memory Massey as committee members of the Downtown Development Authority; the motion was made by Eric Ward and seconded by Kayla Schlappi. The minutes record that the DDA appointments were acted on by the council during the meeting.
Council member Jane Ann Rose moved to appoint Steve Hall and Rebecca O'Neil to the Planning Commission; that motion was seconded by Kayla Schlappi. The minutes do not list a separate roll-call vote for the Planning Commission appointments.
The council also considered and acted on parcel lot splits. A motion by Jane Ann Rose, seconded by Eric Ward, proposed approval of lot splits 12 and 13 for parcel 44-1034-301-05. Later, a motion by Eric Ward, seconded by Steve Hall, approved lot splits 4, 5 and 6 for parcel 44-10-34301-117; the minutes record the lot-split motion(s) carrying on a unanimous vote (Yay 6, Nay 0).
The decisions were routine procedural business recorded in the meeting minutes; no public comment was recorded on these items.
