Ansonia board hears updates on roofing grant, replaced heat exchangers and an approved Wi‑Fi upgrade

Technology Director Mr. Pastore reported that an application for Category 1 E‑Rate funding was approved, which will enable a Wi‑Fi upgrade at the high school next month. He said the district was also selected to participate in the FCC’s new E‑Rate Cybersecurity Pilot Program and noted internal steps such as quarterly password resets and a recent phishing campaign update.
Superintendent DiBacco later highlighted the roofing award letter as a positive development while noting the broader challenge of securing state reimbursements for district initiatives. No formal vote was required for the reports; the board thanked staff and asked for follow-up as projects advance.
