Ken Pryor (789 E Lake St.) told the council he believes misinformation was provided to the Zoning Official and the Planning Commission to obtain a permit for improvements to a boathouse at that address, including a deck, railings and a stairway. Pryor said he will supply his supporting documents to the clerk/treasurer for distribution to the council; no immediate enforcement action was recorded in the minutes.
Separately, the council approved Ordinance No. 2 of 2024 to rezone Parcel No. 64-044-600-133-00 (118 E. Lake Rd.) from C‑3 (Central Business District) to R‑2 (Single Family Residential) on a motion by Don Palmer, supported by Jared Griffis; roll call 7–0.
The council also approved the 2024 Planting Zone Map for the Petal Project (motion by Dave Bluhm, supported by Kathy O’Connor), set Halloween trick-or-treating hours for Oct. 31 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., and approved a fireworks permit for a New Year's Eve display at the Village Marina. Resident Ryan Williams encouraged continued donations to the Downtown Development Authority and noted the first planting phase would be Oct. 25.
