Perry council approves routine items, accepts zoning-board resignation and renews $1,000 SEDP investment

The City of Perry Council on Feb. 20 approved a series of routine procedural and financial items in short order, recording unanimous support from members present.
Motions approved included adoption of the agenda as amended; suspension of rules and approval of the Feb. 6, 2025 minutes; authorization of payment for presented bills; acceptance of a letter of resignation from Deanna Shaw to the Zoning Board of Appeals; and approval of an annual investment renewal to SEDP in an amount not to exceed $1,000. Council also approved that Councilmember Mike Connell preside over the March 6, 2025 council meeting. Meeting minutes show each motion was moved, seconded and recorded as “Motion carried: all yes.”
Recorded attendance shows Mayor Susan J. Hammond and councilmembers Mike Connell, Bob Porter, Mindy Galbavi, Kamal Ghazi and Kristin Babel present; Mayor Pro-Tem Larry Lambert was recorded as absent. The meeting packet did not specify individual vote counts beyond the meeting note that all present voted in favor.
