The City of Perry Planning Commission met Feb. 3, 2025, and took several routine actions, including electing Forest as vice chair and approving commission bylaws and the 2024 annual report.
Larry moved to approve the minutes for January and Mindy seconded; the motion was approved unanimously. Gerrad then moved to approve the meeting agenda for February, with Larry seconding; that motion carried unanimously as well.
Forest nominated himself for Vice Chairperson; Mike moved to elect him and Larry seconded. The commission approved Forest as vice chair by unanimous vote.
The commission noted that the City Council had approved the Planning Commission’s 2024 annual report. Gerrad moved to approve the Planning Commission bylaws (attachment) and Forest seconded; the bylaws were approved unanimously.
Under new business commissioners discussed requesting funding for training through MSU. Commissioners indicated funding should be available and said they would prefer to watch the training together as a group, with individual viewing as a backup option. No formal vote to allocate funds was recorded in the minutes.
Communications recorded for the file included the MSU training item and a message from Mayor Hammond about the annual report. The Planning and Zoning Administrator had no report. The meeting adjourned at 7:22 p.m.
