Chair Nanette Dwester opened the Easton Cemetery Committee's special meeting on Feb. 18, 2026, and members approved the prior meeting minutes. The committee agreed to request $2,500 from the town to support cemetery work while confirming whether state grant funds remain available and what balance the committee currently holds.
Deirdra Preis and Nanette Dwester will meet with Chris Calvert to determine when the committee's budget request will appear before the Board of Finance. Committee members said the intention is to spend any remaining state grant funds before using town-appropriated money.
The committee also emphasized the need to obtain a list from Gary detailing what cemetery work is required; that inventory will inform prioritization if the town funding and grant amounts are confirmed. The committee did not set a final dollar amount for specific projects at this meeting.
Procedural votes at the meeting included approval of the minutes, moved by Frank Pagliaro and seconded by Elizabeth Boyce, and a motion to adjourn at 7:52 PM, moved by Michael Pappalardo and seconded by Elizabeth Boyce. The committee recorded no further formal authorizations related to individual projects during this session.
