Easton agricultural commissioners hear PA490 update; set farm map and resources for town website

Chairman Jake Conover reported to the Town of Easton Agricultural Commission on Feb. 11 that Selectman D' Addario relayed the outcome of the PA490 working group's first meeting, saying “no change to the farmland assessment method will happen for at least another year.” The commission approved its January minutes and set a short list of next steps for outreach and information on the town website.
The commission voted unanimously to approve the January minutes after a motion by Tom Ganim, seconded by Ray Martin III. The meeting record shows all members and alternates present — Chairman Jake Conover and Gerry O'Brien, with alternates Tom Ganim and Ray Martin III — voted to approve the minutes.
Conover said the PA490 working group agreed to delay any changes to the farmland assessment method for at least one year. He told the commission that the group also agreed to target three deliverables for the coming month: approval of a new farm map for the town website; compiling farm-related resources into a website link tree; and finalizing questions for a post-Christmas tree season survey.
The commission did not record further debate or opposing motions on those items in the minutes. Chairman Conover moved to adjourn at 8:23 p.m.; Ray Martin III seconded, and the motion passed unanimously.
