Hackberry board approves revisions to board organization and admin evaluation policy; holds executive session
Summary
On Dec. 9 the Hackberry Elementary School District board approved revisions to Policy BDA (board organization duties) and modified Policy CBI (district administration evaluation and associated incentive amounts); the board also entered and exited an executive session for an administration evaluation and approved minor operational items including T-shirt pricing and Student Council petty cash.
The Hackberry Elementary School District #3 Governing Board approved several administrative policy changes and held an executive session for an administration evaluation during its Dec. 9 meeting.
The board approved revisions to Policy BDA (Board Organizational Meeting and Board President duties) on a motion by Pam Adams, seconded by Valerie Grimes; the motion passed 5–0. The board also approved revisions to Policy CBI (Evaluation of District Administration), which adjusted proposed incentive amounts tied to school letter grades: the revision changed the amounts described in the draft (for example, reducing a proposed $10,000 payment to $5,000 if a Letter B is achieved and reducing $20,000 to $10,000 if a Letter A is achieved, with a provision that if an A is achieved for two consecutive years a $20,000 amount would be offered). The motion to revise Policy CBI was made by Pam Adams and seconded by Valerie Grimes and passed 5–0.
The board then moved into an executive session at 5:15 p.m. for an administration evaluation (motion by Pam Adams, second by Leanne Donason) and returned to open session at 5:28 p.m. (motion by Tammy Herrera, second by Pam Adams); both motions passed 5–0. No personnel actions were recorded in the open minutes beyond the executive session entry and exit.
On other new-business items the board approved setting T-shirt pricing at $5 (board member Leanne Donason moved; Charla Loomis seconded; passed 5–0) and approved a $200 petty cash fund for Student Council change purposes (moved by Leanne Donason; seconded by Pam Adams; passed 5–0). The Student Council must deposit amounts above $200 into district accounts, per the motion.
The motions recorded at the Dec. 9 meeting were unanimous where votes were recorded; no dissenting votes or abstentions were recorded in the minutes presented.
