Hackberry board adopts wide-ranging advisory policy revisions, deletes several older policies

The Hackberry Elementary School District #3 Governing Board voted on a broad set of advisory policies at its Oct. 14 meeting, approving many revisions, adopting new policies and deleting several older policies across governance, personnel, student services and operations.
Board members moved and seconded motions for individual policies throughout the meeting. Notable actions included adopting revised Board Member Qualifications (Policy BBBA, No. 792), hiring-related policies for professional and support staff (Policies GCF, GDF), and curriculum and instructional program policies (Policy IHA). The board deleted Policy IKF (Graduation Requirements) and similar graduation-related policies because the district does not operate a high school; the deletion motions were recorded as passing 4-0.
The board also adopted new or revised operational policies including hazardous materials (NEW Policy EBAB — Hazardous Materials), student transportation policies (NEW Policy EEA/Regulation EEA-R — Student Transportation and associated bus-safety and driver-requirement policies), and several food-service policies (Policy EF and new Regulation EF-RB and Policy EFD on pricing and payment). The minutes show adoption or deletion of many line-item policies between Nos. 792 and 958; most motions carried with the recorded outcome "Passed 4-0."
Several administrative- and records-related policies were approved, such as revisions to mailing and electronic mail policies (EGAE, EGAEA) and data/records retention (Policy EHB). The board approved facility-related policies (FA, FCB, FEA, FF) concerning facility development, retirement and naming.
Board members raised no formal objections recorded in the minutes on these policy votes; most were adopted with a consistent 4-0 recorded tally. Where the minutes noted deletion, the board moved to remove the older policies from the advisory set. The board's actions update the district's policy framework across personnel, safety, transportation and operational rules.
